I guess a customer who's had a catastrophic repair experience due to MBP unfixability will switch here, since re-upping has gotten pricier.

My 2009 17" is dead and needs a $750+ motherboard. Have been waiting for new MBP for years. Very close to abandoning.
-
Yup, my 2013 needs replacing so I'm an easy sale, but this MBP isn't for me. Non-repairability stung me in 2016, I fear more.

But you’re buying one anyway?
-
Nope! Not quite sure what I'm doing yet, but it doesn't match my personal needs/wants/would-be-nices.
-
Really sucks if this was a computer you we’re waiting for that wasn’t worth waiting for. -
That's true, but it will also be interesting/maybe creatively stimulating to have a change. I've been on Apple laptops since 1996!
-
What is really the alternative? Is Windows usable in 2016?
-
We'll see! I'm thinking Win/Mint/elementary partitions on something with a pleasant-to-use keyboard, and see what's up.

I can't make sense of the steady drip of "Finally, it's light enough to commute with!" Do ppl not have backpacks?
-
Yup, past the point of diminishing returns. Pro, to me, means I don't lose my laptop for a week to get a new battery.

spot on. rMBP 2012. Was ready to go high end as Adobe apps stalling. Emojis & £120 of adapters wasn't too of my list.

Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
