Returned from field work in Greenland studying narwhals at 75N wearing t-shirts during a heatwave w/ glaciers calving off massive chunks, on the way home passed a wildfire burning on the coast & returning to US flew over endless melt pools. Climate change is real.

Greenland is literally falling into the sea as we work in the heatwave. Witnessed a massive calving event (~3 km wide) at Sverdrup glacier, 75N. It’s sad to experience such warm temperatures in the high Arctic. Shouldn’t be like this here.

Passing Upernavik, West Greenland (~72 deg N) wearing t-shirts on deck during our narwhal project. The town just had the highest temperatures in recorded history (>20C). This is not normal.
