And here's the thing: Most of it isn't that hard. Most of it could last a lot longer if it were built differently. Most of it doesn't *need* a web browser, or particular OS, or <insert volatile technology here> to do what it wants to do.

I think this is the key. We can't stop the computing environment from changing, but we can plan and create so that refactoring can be done more easily for the works we want to preserve. That, or we create emulators for past browsers etc. like we do for retro game consoles...
