Yep, listened to BBC World Service on SW, first in India, then in the US. Purchased a SW radio while transiting in Dubai. SW radio wasn't a thing in the US. Now, the Internet has changed everything.

every dot is a commercial radio station. There another 3 million of us amateur radio operators. Btw, KC4AAA Amundsen Station S. Pole has been on all morning talking to people all over the world

They're broadcast, but not necessarily commercial - plenty of independent and college stations. You can submit your own, but they require a station website URL and URL for a live internet stream 24x7.
