Note to self: in an argument between logic and ideology, logic wins whenever the ideological side is willing to give up the ideology. Which is never.

Good ideology emerges out of logic. Bad ideology comes from authority.

If you are not ideological, then no ideology is “good”. If you are ideological, then whatever ideology you have is good per definition, and appears logical by inclination.

Ideology is what we use to decide what to do, so we have to have one. It is either one given to us by others, or one our brain has created after taking in information from reality. Logic is the second one.

Ideology is the manifestation of a hivemind on the level of the individual, which is why the individual does not get write access. Ideology shifts the agency to decide about the validity of beliefs from the individual to a projection of an external authority.

That is the bad ideology that I spoke of. Good ideology is gained by experimenting and testing out the various theories that one has for how things work, and coming to a better theory that is always seeking improvement.

Good and bad are the core concepts at the root of every ideology.

I'm using good in the logical sense here. Theories that work better for making predictions and attaining goals. This is how we make decisions when systems are complex, rather than simple linear problems. We need something to base our decisions on. That's ideology.

you are either redefining the terms (thus losing the distinctive value of their original purpose), or this is confused... :)

I'm just clarifying the terms so that things aren't confused. There is good/effective/logical ideology that leads to us making decisions that help us achieve goals, and there is arbitrary/subjective/not so good ideology that often fails to achieve goals.

Isn‘t the term for that ‘policy’?

Policy is probably a subset of ideology. Moreso in the political area than the personal area or religious area. But it's certainly related.
