The problem with our current mode of government is that its hope rests on finding leaders who are too idealistic to fully act on their own incentives, yet smart enough to design ours.

Perhaps the problem in my organism is that my brain has been doing its job for long enough? Perhaps I should ask the bladder to do admin for a while? :)

IRL, we have a similar problem if we disentangle expertise and responsibility of the individual from the job. The main problem is not that people in institutions have a too long time horizon, but it is too short. And countries with term limits don't seem to be run better!

Of course it is. But part of that is that the government can make a justified argument that people outside of the government are too incompetent to understand their own administrative interests.

I think the same thing about my brain. This cannot go on much longer! I am willing to kick it out and find a new mode of organizing my inner polis!
