I'm not defending medallions, but you know, knock yourself out. I think municipal handouts to billionaire VCs are bad, don't you?

It's a nuanced point about city governments not rewarding widespread lawbreaking by hugely unethical tech companies at the expense of immigrants who obey the law. I'm fine with undoing the medallion system & its exploitation, just not by enriching Uber for its abuses.

Because your idea of intergenerational wealth is taking out a mortgage on the eternal right to be a chauffeur? This seems to be wrong on so many levels

I think it sucks. I also know the options available to South Asian immigrants. Can I see where you’ve given a fuck about them in the past?

Can I see how an ad hominem is improving your argument?

It’s not an ad hominem to point out your concern about this is transparently insincere.

I am sincerely concerned about the plight of people without sufficient access to food, housing and cultural participation. I also sincerely think that your suggestion to prevent ridesharing to protect cab monopolies is not a solution.

I didn’t suggest preventing “ridesharing”, nor say anything about ride hailing apps. I said we shouldn’t give multi-billion-dollar handouts to wildly unethical startups with billions in funding.
