The label "intellectual dark web" deserves all the fun that one might make of it, but it is ideologically too diverse to be tribal. I think of it as mostly an acknowledgement that there is a wide space of entirely usual intellectual and moral positions that have become samizdat.

This label makes everybody under it an easy target for guilt by association attacks. A simplistic strategy that works very well with an outrage inducing headline (the headline is enough, nobody actually reads those things, they're meant to be shared...)

I think the label was invented by Eric Weinstein, and Bari Weiss meant to advertise it as a positive identification for dissident intellectuals.
