There is whole genre of media that is mostly concerned with "here is how you should feel about X". http://Vox.com is a good example, but it exists all over the place. The fact that this genre (voluntary auto-indoctrination) has a market alienates me from humanity.

Do you think Vox readers feel exactly the same way as you do now when they go to Fox news?

No. They probably won’t be appalled about the indoctrination but about the doctrine.

In the case of Vox? Yes. They have decided that reality is a social construct, and in order to get to the best reality, we need to create the best social construct. For them, it means that we have to program people with a virtuous worldview.

No, it still conflicts with my values to reduce the agency of others.

The problem may be that I think that beliefs without priors are invalid, and by making them think that they can take the following set of beliefs without priors, I am installing an invalid structure in their mind, i.e. I am lying to them and subverting them.
