I'm curious, as someone who does not meddle with AI, why you think that a theory of extended mind requires non-representational objects? Isn't extended mind simply about pattern integrity emerging out of interobjective coherence?

Emergent objects have no causal force on their substrate. They only exist in the eye of the beholder. For objects to emerge, something must behold them, ie construct representationsl models.
