Agree, standard morality is very surface/cultural & is stripped away (alongside most of perception) by a mid>high dose of DMT for example. There are lower level "drives" though i would argue, that are much harder to get rid of > possibly "the drive towards life", but who knows ;)

As Philip K. Dick remarked “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.”. His statement really gets more interesting, when you put "death" into the picture and study what does not go away (the nature of nothingness)

It seems to me that you can shortcircuit space and time representations and still experience pain. You may need to dissociate/detach from relevance meanings, not from structural meanings.
