Interesting paper, but still need to dig into it to understand the method and exactly what the experiment reveals. It would be interesting if this method can reveal if a system is or us not chaotic.

Unfortunately, no source code was published so it can't be independently verified. The other curious thing is that it uses an obscure method (reservoir computing) where it's not clear to me how well that has worked for other problems.

This makes my heart pound for the 2049 singularity. "Ott and company’s results suggest you don’t need the equations — only data. " reminds me of JavaScript and React because of the declarative nature. You define what you want and when. How is up to whatever function is kicked.
