It is impossible that the Lords of Davos will ever be convinced of long-term interests, as the whole theory of economics is premised on the idea that "In the long term, we will all die !"https://twitter.com/RayDalio/status/958007245312266241 …

Do you personally agree with the overall tenor of the thinking that is coming from public forums like the wef?
-
No! I just noticed that the more I discover the true complexity of a subject, the less opinionated I become (until I master that complexity). Our certainty is inverse to our awareness of unresolved complexity.

btw. the "information asymmetry" which seems to be integral to your argument, goes both ways. The track-record of the "know it all's" (historically the church) is very mixed indeed.

Most of what the public knows is what the elites tell them, and most of their moral ideas are the result from their indoctrination by the elites. The church has historically been pretty well-informed; the disagreement with scientists was mostly about what to make public.

Met only few global power players, which all were exceptionally nice and well educated people (as one excepts). My criticism/disagreement is mainly directed at the structural/group level, where actions speak louder than personal likings. Power needs criticism, or it unhinges.
