FaceID in the iPhone and the Touch Bar on the MacBook are two symptoms of the same disease. They replace something boring that works with something shiny that is compromised. We could call it the iOS7 syndrome.

Reading this on my phone, bc can't use my MBP without external keyboard, bc touchbar. External keyboard is battery powered, bc no ports. No keyboard battery. So, no laptop today.

Yes, it was such a "courageous" idea to replace all the MacBook's ports with a phone port. Ironically, it is the Android phone port. Perhaps we ought to take the hint.
