Is there a term for the polar opposite of nihilism? I'm an EVERYTHING MATTERS! type of person.

I don't think that's a term that most scientists or philosophers would use to describe a deterministic universe.

I hardly think determinism is the opposite of nihilism!

Nihilism is that nothing matters. It's all for naught. Determinism, at least the form I experience, says that everything is for a purpose. It all matters. We are telling one giant story of existence. Every character plays a crucial part.

All that is meaningless is pre-determined, I don't think I can tie the two together like you do!

What else do you imagine there is? And why would something that has a purpose (a direction) be meaningless?

Directions and purposes are different things.
