There may be a distinct physical reason that could lead to an unbreakable noise barrier that prevents us from getting enough logical qbits out of the physical ones to outperform classical computation.

But how do you know that the noise barrier is about 50 qbits or less and not about 50 zillions qbits or more? There is any physinc law against a finite number of elements in quantum superposition?

You can have as many particles entangled and decoherent as you want, that is not the problem.
