That's adding dimensions. I'm talking about a single dimension. One dimension can represent a change over time or space. To get a biography you need at least three dimensions (I think), to compare how something changes over time compared to something else.
To your original point: to get a biography you need a relation that represents the temporal dimension and at least one other relation type that represents a changing feature, so 2D should be technically enough. And yes, every bit of information needs something to compare it to.

I add that we need an external perspective to observe the other perspectives. So to see something in 2D, we need a 3D system. But I don't always pay attention to that observer dimension. So I'm not as consistent as I could be there.

I think that this is a great observation, but not sure if it is literally true! Yes, you need to project from a stance outside of 2D to see 2D, but that does not have to be a full 3space, i.e. you don't have to be able to look at an angle or even shift or rotate the 2D plane.
