Perhaps we're talking about very different things. I'm talking about how we can map the difference between "me now" and "you over there", or we can map "me now" vs "me tomorrow", using the same dimension of "difference".
Spacetime adds a new way to change perspective: based on your spacetime trajectory, objects will not only change their relative position but also their spatial extension and rate of change. But that does not make temporal change and spatial arrangement interchangeable.

To your original point: to get a biography you need a relation that represents the temporal dimension and at least one other relation type that represents a changing feature, so 2D should be technically enough. And yes, every bit of information needs something to compare it to.
