are you describing a form of computational panpsychism there? ;) mr

From the perspective of computationalism, panpsychism assumes some kind of entirely inscrutable metacomputational operator that works below what our computational observation and reason can get at.

I'm curios to hear
@PeterSjostedtH take on this: Is panpsychism by definition outside of the scope of the scientific method or will science eventually expand to accommodate new theories, backed by experimental evidence for panpsychism?4 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -
(sideway thought) I wonder what Francisco Varela would think of it (if he was still there). In the end, he defended introspection as a valid tool for investigation. Was he on the verge of panpsychism ?

Regardless of one's take on panpsychism, introspection is certainly relevant to cognitive science.

It's still not a popular idea unfortunately, and as
@PeterSjostedtH pointed out, actual "science" is not adequate (but used "autopoiesis" in his article, which reminded me of Varela).1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
At some level, I don't really care so much about what is fashionable. For instance, behaviorism and embodimentalism were always transparently wrong and indefensible. Sometimes it is important to ignore the madding crowd.
