It's still not a popular idea unfortunately, and as
@PeterSjostedtH pointed out, actual "science" is not adequate (but used "autopoiesis" in his article, which reminded me of Varela). -
At some level, I don't really care so much about what is fashionable. For instance, behaviorism and embodimentalism were always transparently wrong and indefensible. Sometimes it is important to ignore the madding crowd.
