I never got to know Nick Bostrom, but I think that I can vouch for Anders Sandberg being an exceptionally smart and kind mind. I also don't think that the problem is that people hate you (most that matter don't) but that you signal irresponsibility by calling everybody names.

As far as I know (and I know little) they ARE great people. They enrich the world by generating inspiring ideas, most of which they even really care about, which is unusual among philosophers. They have added hours of enjoyment to my mostly unpleasant existence in this universe.

I am unaware of an ad hominem towards you? I also lack an operational definition of idiot that would allow me to use the term productively. And I suspect that you don't represent that the point of signaling is that you don't signal to yourself but to others.
