despite the many successes and media hype around “cars”, they will never be the solution to “general transportation.”

if you are working on car tech (driverless or otherwise) you need to be more aware of these limits. instead maybe ride a bike which has some desirable properties w.r.t. off roading and pollution although mostly works best for short “toy” problems!

Gary Marcus discovered that this car thing cannot work unless we combine it with bicycle tech. Rodney Brooks tried to build a jet car once, but it turns out that those are just vacuum cleaners. Jaron Lanier points out that cars are just a delirious cult of trans portationists.
