Just had one if these long discussions with a smart mathematician, and now I notice that sometimes I get the impression that computationalism (the only working philosophical edifice left) is non-obvious to 90% of people. I find that genuinely puzzling.

I am not sure, my two cents. But it often seems they are either in denial, they are happier without. Or they are blinded by the illusion of self. I kind of understand the first one. The second one is like explaining earth is round to people that always believed it was flat.

If someone is not curious to understand alternatives to their current view, it means they are not interested in truth. That may be legitimate, but it is pointless to try to give them something they don’t need or want.
