Basically, how do you explain to neurotypicals that you may hold views that appear offensive to them and you act in disregard of some common norms not to spite them, but because of autism? Also, perhaps they are right and my effect on the social environment is net-negative?

This is a hard nut to crack. Agreed. How do we explain something to someone without our way of experiencing the world?

As usually, by convincing them that it is in their best interest to do so. Sometimes that won't be possible. Or it might not be true. Or it might even not be in our best interest, because why should we not learn to reverse engineer their interface and adapt to it?
