Much of social science understands itself as the study of the differences between what is and what ought to be. However, sociality is an aspect of physical reality. Physical reality just is, not ought.

There is no alternative to the evolution of the state vector of the universe. There is no could. Social reality is not shaped by normative forces. Normative forces exist only as projections in individual minds.

I depends on the referent of "I", of course. If that particular behavior program is tasked with deciding whether to stay in bed or deliver a talk, "I" definitely implement a choice.
