These ideas were surprisingly robust and integrating to the group itself, and the immune system of the host society reacted by literally burning the memetically infected group out with fire, like a zombie virus invasion.

I wonder what would happen to society if everybody wakes up. Perhaps everything collapses? I'd like to see some credible simulations before we try.
