Maybe Donald Trump perfectly represents a country where statistically most people worship competition, fame, cars, guns, money and the nation, favor killing prisoners and beat their children. How is it that individually they mostly appear to be friendly and considerate persons?

Most of the dangerous people I've known, and in my line of work I met more than my share, were very nice people. It is what Hannah Arendt referred to as "The Banality of Evil." Being nice is irrelevant to the ideology they hold.
