If a ‘compromise’ is only uncomfortable to one party and not the other, is it still a compromise?
Justice and fairness cannot be defined independently from a particular frame of reference. Compromise can.

I suppose you’re right. If either parties have varying notions of fairness then the ‘compromise’ could be viewed as just from one but not the other.
