The most important and perhaps most obscured insight in human history was that there is nothing as valuable as manipulating the behavior of other people. This discovery led to power structures, governance, social planning and civilization.

More precisely, there is nothing more valuable than finding people who want to play with you, voluntarily. Manipulating them into playing, or doing things FOR you, is far less valuable.

Oh, I am not talking about my personal value system. I obviously value things that don't correspond to my personal reward.

Who's value system are you imagining then, if not your own? I've never met anyone with anything other than the goal of playing with others, though.

There is objective reward, as defined by the preconditions for evolutionary success. (And btw, I know many people who love to do their best games alone.)

The highest reward is for those who have the most playmates. It's only when people can't find willing playmates resort to violence/force, or avoidance. That never works out well in the long run, though. Life requires collaboration, so it's the only winning strategy.

Values is not who I am but something that I have, and can change. I recognize that people have all sorts of different value systems, or even none at all. Life also involves adversity. Cooperation is just one of many strategies.
