No, I said every one of these statements can easily be said, including on primetime TV. The only factually incorrect statement is the one where you lied & said people got fired for supporting Trump.

No, I didn't say that. I said "There are well-known examples of ppl who were fired (or had widespread calls for firing) for supporting Trump or claiming biological sex differences." Damore was fired, Thiel experienced calls to be fired. My claim was accurate.

Damore was pretty obviously fired for lying, and you still seem to not understand the difference between a board member of a public company & an employee, which increasingly seems like an intentional lie vs just ignorance.

I... don't think it's at all obvious that Damore was fired for "lying" ? But look, this conversation is clearly not going anywhere productive, so let's call it.

Sure. And next time, if you purport to care about free speech: don’t make false claims that anybody’s ever been fired for supporting Trump, don’t conflate employees & public company board memberships, and actually focus on *current government persecution* of protected speech.

Anil, all specifics of the discussion aside: Julia is one of the most intellectually honest and generally thoughtful people I know. She argues in good faith.

I appreciate that, and have tried to engage sincerely, with questions over assertions wherever possible. Hope my disagreements & clarifications showed my sincere respect.

Conversations like this (in good faith, with similar goals) seem great for a conference/panel style talk. Enriching shared understanding etc

Jason, I did not get the impression that this conversation was conducted in good faith and with similar goals. You cannot in good faith call your opponent a liar and then claim that this demonstrates your sincere respect.

That’s a fair point. I was more meaning, from what I’ve seen of Anil and Julia in the past my interpretation is that they have similar goals. Which is of course all very open to interpretation. Thanks for the steer.

In my view they clearly don't. Broadly speaking, Anil serves justice, Julia serves truth. Both are worthy goals, but at some point you cannot serve two gods at once, and having integrity to your highest purpose requires sacrifice.
