Are you suggesting that the physical capacity of the grid is the bottleneck in energy production, and not the incentives of energy companies against opening access to the grid?

Same difference. The energy companies are not acting out of malice but out of self preservation, and responsibility to shareholder value.

If all the philanthropy money was put on providing power to all, we will easily meet the goal in 18 months

Most of the money would have to be used to defeat or buy out the incumbent energy companies, which may have bad macro economic side effects. (If it was otherwise, the US or EU would just print all the "philanthropy money" it needs and do it.)
