Rinaldo Walcott, you are making racist and unwarranted assumptions about me, both on The Agenda and followed up in this tweet. You think I wouldn't stand up to a white professor, but I would to a racialized one? What an absolutely unfounded argument.https://twitter.com/blacklikewho/status/935936856591622145 …

Try not to get sucked in to their warped view of the world. You acted responsibly on a gender issue. Because you won, they wish to portray you as a racist--it's purely tactical on their part. Their claim is absurd from the outside.

be the adult in the room. That's the key to the lock.

Don't be the adult in a room full of very angry kids with base ball bats. In that case try to be the adult in a different room.

that's quite reasonable. I recommend locking the door also with them in said room left behind and pumping Pantera thru the PA to help them start their therapy :-)

No, I cannot see how that would serve any desirable purpose. There are economic, epistemological and psychological reasons for their behavior that must ultimately be addressed, or this society may fall apart.

so keep exposing them to questioning and apply defamation law any time they mouth off. Wrap them up in court cases much that it beats them down. Charge them on EVERYTHING.

At the root of the problem seems to be that you cannot effectively ask people to submit to the logic of a system in which they are economically fucked, even if that logic is totally enlightened and truthful and pluralist liberal.

not to mention meritocratic. How does one reduce economic competition to their own self in a meritocratic society? Political Correctness is a logical response by those who recognise that when challenged they may - at first - fall short. Hence, the retreat into identity feudalism.

OTOH, if the economic wellbeing of people fully depends on moving to the top levels of a meritocracy, those not at the top really have no choice but to try to redefine how merit is measured. It is dangerous to set up societies like a race.

It's not a race. Individuals have to use their own agency to determine the sacrifices they are willing to make to achieve their goals e.g. family, prosperity, code of ethics, relationships with co-workers, etc. Life is unfair, but we all make our own decisions.
