Should I pooh pooh the optimism of @doctorow that technology is enabling rag tag revolutionaries to take on the man?

With this insightful remark by
@doctorow, the case for optimism gone. Dicks like ISIS/Nazis stay together due to a simple dumb framework.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
It doesn't matter for the dickheads that they don't build a common agenda. The agenda is already decided. Not the case for humanists.

Sowith the current state of technology, the dickheads multiply (possibly encouraged even by the Man), but other revolutionaries collapse.

The problem is current technology is fucked up. Unless we fix this, no revolution possible. No change for the better. Only shittier times.

Why do you think the problem of setting the right systemic incentives boils down to faults in current technology?

We have computing technology that can model any system and thus be used to manipulate it. So ultimately it is a technology problem.

It is bad technology as it is opaque. Very bad interfaces. I wrote about this in my pinned tweet. Also on this blog. http://the-redpill.blogspot.de/2015/11/of-electric-fences-and-free-software.html …

Very bad technology. Very bad. Sad! Nice essay, but I think it gets the nature of control in a society all wrong :)
