Instead of pushing my kids, I try to help them find the interests that will pull them. History suggests pull has more power.
I find if I push they always push back. It seems to be a good idea to encourage autonomy early on

Ah this one I started a long while ago. I you like them to lose motivation, give them secondary rewards for it :D
