Trying to watch Devs but I hate Lily's character too much. Does it get better after the 2nd episode?
More generally, what annoys me is that Garland casts computer scientists and quantum physicists (which are usually hardcore aspies) as hyper normies. It's like a heterosexual auteur trying to making a deep reflection about the gay movement but portraying everyone as straight.

Lily's first scene: scolding her boyfriend for having an opinion about cryptography was 'normie in tech' behavior and untypical for a crypto nerd. In a way the same happened within Ex Machina: the creator of the AI was a 'bro'; he did not have the nerd mindset of AI developers.
