During the last hundred years, the right to say what you want did not translate into a right to be heard by the broader public. Social media changed that and led to a destabilization. Censoring social media seems to be a necessity, from the perspective of media and government.
What if the baseline of common ground and civility and democracy that separates us from civil war does not actually exist, and there is a full continuum, and what we got is simply the present result of negotiation and power grabbing?
