There are two different types of knowledge about the world: one is conceptual and stems from rational analysis, the other is perceptual and is based on careful observation of our own control structures. People that are good at one may often not even be aware of the other.
Yes, but in the latter case the conceptual structures will (in most people) not end up being rational. You are an especially interesting bird, because your ideas about your own emotions may be equally confused as your rationality, despite you being smart and deep and perceptive.
