OK, here's a question. My talents, such as they are, lie in the area of thinking and writing. From a humanitarian point of view, what are the most useful topics I could devote them to?

I fear that all philosophical discoveries that can be made by an unaugmented human intellect after a lifetime of reading and thinking are in the past. The relevant frontier lies in getting serious about Leibniz' project of mathematizing and automating the search for truth: AI.

I suspect no one will understand these „truths“ then. Pretty worth less to the human mind and our world. However I feel like I agree from a philosophical point of view.

Why? Using a radio is simple, understanding how it works is possible, discovering how to make one is hard.

Agree, but to me it feels like with every step forward you renormalize alienation. You trace out a structure and the world remains the same. One may discover that AI will replace capital accumulation with merely another form of maxwell‘s demon. Damn singularities.

I think I don’t understand how the line of reasoning comes back from the experience AI has into our embodied experience. Isn’t it a black hole for us? Something we can observe but not enter and experience?

All experience is a projection of your own mind, constrained by perceptual patterns. There is no reason that an AI should not be able to entrain ourselves with us in a way that generates arbitrary experiences
