Do you think that physically, the moment of now is different from all other moments (that it's the only actual moment, while all others are potential)? Are all moments nows? Is there a succession of moments, or is the succession only apparent? Do states exist or only transitions?

It gets really weird if you bring relativity of simultaneity into this debate.

yes, it does, but you can have a classically computed universe (with a privileged now-state) that yields relativistic time and simultaneity to an emergent embedded observer

If a succession, then each moment must have a beginning and an end, and are therefore divisible by further moments which have a beginning and and end, and so on ad finitum in the direction of the zero point never reached.

As the universe is fundamentally non-deterministic, the future cannot have the same status as the present from a temporal point of reference. But this flowing ref. point may only emerge in cognitive structures in which a blurred image of reality gives entropy its directionality.

How do you prove that the universe is non deterministic? Especially since it is reversible?

I reckon the solipsist would claim that there is only now.

Experientially, there is clearly only now, and it's not the same as the physical present. But is there a physical present that is distinct in some property from all other moments?

I'm not quite sure why but the idea that space and time are discrete seems a bit disappointing. Disappointing perhaps in a similar way as that there is a maximum speed.

It’s only disappointing if you don’t want to deconstruct your geometric intuitions
