A very overlooked benefit of studying mathematics is that it actually teaches you how to think informally without neglecting logical rigor when it's needed. Pedants live in constant fear of bad form because they barely understand good form.

But which logical system? Why that one over another?

It's about being calibrated, not about this or that specific set of rules for verification. Which is why pedantry fails

Isn’t calibration relative to a reference? Maybe a better way to say it is it makes one more sensitive to the problems and possibilities of logic, or reason more broadly. It can induce epistemic humility.

Logic is just a family of language games invented by humans. Sometimes one of the games is useful to other areas of life. It provides no special access to absolute truth.

          yes, #logic can be #incomplete or #inconsistent or both, i would summarize @interpretantion in @TerryJones2011 words: #CreativityForKids involves #generative #sublogical #openmode to #brainstorm #hypothesis b4 #rigorising in #closedmode in2 #proslogical #comprehension #fineart
