OK, here's a question. My talents, such as they are, lie in the area of thinking and writing. From a humanitarian point of view, what are the most useful topics I could devote them to?
You seem to have a response to my doubts on your mind: Which important philosophical breakthroughs of the last two generations were made by philosophers or even due to philosophers? Math/CS and physics continue to be philosophically productive, but the communities diverged?

It’s not a jibe. Yes, I do. I’m reminded of Johann von Jolly’s advice to the young Max Planck not to go into physics, because “in this field, almost everything is already discovered, and all that remains is to fill a few unimportant holes”. Every age thinks thus.

Do you have concrete contributions of recent philosophy in mind? I don't mean via educating the public (like Popper), or entertaining it (like Dennett), but genuinely novel insights?
