9yo hates the math workbook I got her b/c it's mostly arithmetic drills and word problems ("math is so boring!") Is there any "higher math" book ("math is cool!") that's age appropriate? Please don't tell me I have to write my own.

I just remembered getting to go on an archeology dig when I was about 11 and they made us set up the ropes and stakes using geometry, it was rad

Math as a field (not as an area of skills) is an art form and probably should be taught as such. As a child, I would have loved the "Quadrivium", and Jeffrey Weeks: The Shape of Space. Number theory is best understood by learning to code basic arithmetic and then matrix algebra.
