For most adults, a good case can be made to remove all restrictions on buying prescription medicines. The rules are designed to protect a minority of irresponsible people. What would a system look like that grants freedoms and choices based on ability to take responsibility?

Doesn’t include opiates but schedule III drugs are widely available including things like benzodiazepines, tramadol and others, all of which are more or less dispensed at the discretion of the pharmacist and/or market forces. Rx occasionally needed but rarely enforced.
