US hospital administrations preventing nurses from using PPE (and even firing them if they do) strikes me as a unique phenomenon. I would like to understand why this happens in the US. Something is dawning on me: public administrators in Germany have a specific and desirable status as civil servants. They have to pass specific exams, cannot be terminated, are part of a regulated career system, and there is significant competition for the good jobs.
