Another thread + conversation with Yuzi has me thinking about this: how did Peterson gain a positive reputation with the FACTS and LOGIC crowd, given that his methodology is basically to freely weave tales of jungian mysticism? My guess in the reply.

But I think more would need to be said about why this particular brand of meaning making was attractive to that crowd. I think part of that story is that he weaves into the story some stuff about the glory of reason and scientific inquiry which appeals to them.

I guess it's more that he has positions that are very appreciated by "ordinary" folks while being in harsh opposition to a big part of young mainstream academia. And he's also much more emotionally captivating than for example Jonathan Haidt. I guess the "facts-and-logic"
