Nausicaa's unique perspective on Miyazaki's universe is underrated. Nausicaa is basically Heidi, but growing up bravely and starry eyed in one of the last remaining outposts of humanity, centuries after the atmosphere has tipped and cyanobacteria and fungi have taken over.
