One guess I have is that the participants in the studies were reinfected with a very large dose of the virus, and that’s why they weren’t immune enough. But I’m really not sure what to think! I would love more info.

From what I saw, a substantial subset of C19 survivors did not have antibodies either. Herd immunity might be elusive.
