I have been following all the events she describes closely, and I am pretty sure that the US will also not be able to avoid that people die due to withholding essential treatment to cancer patients, neglect by local officials that fail to take care of disabled people.

I am sure that there is an incredible hidden toll to the measures that were implemented to manage the disease, and early decisionmaking in the crisis has been suboptimal, but also notice that the US is going to overtake the Chinese numbers despite having had 2 months warning.
