*None* of the present candidates is fit to lead the country during an actual crisis. Most don’t even have integrity; all of them are unable to think systemically and deeply understand what we are up against. The preselection process is totally broken.

Sanders is probably not a Stalinist or Maoist, but prefers some Scandinavian model, but Scandinavia is social democratic capitalism, something that Marx did not consider possible.

I disagree. Social democracy derived from Marxism. Additionally, Marx and Engels thought a worker controlled Democratic State was paramount in the transition to communism. However, it wouldn't be the end goal.

Stalinism was a perversion of Marxism. However, I understand your point. Although, according to some polls, the majority of Russians want to go back to socialism. As to your point, perhaps, this is why he is differentiating the ideals of Socialism by mimicing social democracy

Yes, the oligarchy that formed after the crash of the Soviet Union played a very short game, making living conditions worse for a lot of people. But I doubt that you'd get a majority to vote for going back to the Brezhnev era. I trust Sanders' intentions but not his analysis.
