What do you think of the German strategy now, based primarily on voluntary quarantining of citizens. Germans have good civic sense. Will this be sufficient? Or more drastic measures with fines will be needed?

The drastic measures are going to be needed to deal with the 20% without good civic sense. In the US, it may be 40%. I think the current measures are necessary to ease us into the more drastic ones. We need to build supply infrastructure first.

I don't think so. He just fainted out of exhaustion for having too less rest in the past days and being harshly questioned by members of the parliament. More drastic measures are expected, but not primarily because of this incident.

It's not necessary that he's got C19. The shocking realization of being vulnerable is making a big difference. I bet the Mar-a-Lago incident got to Trump as well.

From my extrapolations it appears that in 3-5 days The Netherlands will run out of he safe zone in terms of eventual Intense Care occupation, plus the knowledge that everyone who comes to the hospital now was infected about a week ago. E.g. R0<1 in that time or (temporary) bust

1 week is approx. 4x, so you can't just boost past 1/4 occupation of the ICU the first time while you are 'calibrating' the rules for people going on out.
